Each film reflects the shared vision of a team to involve the viewer in the narrative. Post-production, being the last phase of film production, is decisive in articulating the narrative message.   

From the image editor, through sound, to the digital work on framing, lighting and scene objects, post-production reflects a body of knowledge and artistic and technical learning that is decisive for the final result of a film. 

For every complex and surprising scene we see in the cinema, there is an editor, a 2D/3D and "Compositing" artist who chooses the real images captured by the camera, defines their rhythms and integrates computer-generated elements to create shots and sequences that dazzle our perception. 

The specialisation in Post Production and Visual Effects Production (VFX) in the Master's Degree in Sound and Image will complement the artistic vision in image construction with demanding technical training of national and international reference. We aim to train editors, colourists and image compositors with a critical sense, artistic vision and knowledge of the tasks expected by companies in the sector.  

This specialisation combines the experience of teachers from the School of Arts (PhDs, specialists and award winners) with international professionals of equal relevance. Taking advantage of the excellent technical resources of the School of Arts and the Centre for Digital Creativity - audiovisual laboratories, digital filming equipment, chroma-key studio, MoCap Laboratory, sound studios, video post-production and VFX laboratories - as well as a dynamic cultural context (Artist Residencies, film cycles, film exhibitions), the course offers practical and specialised training, as well as the development and production of artistic projects of its own.

• participation, through constant initiatives (Artist Residencies, Seminars, Summer School) of international artists, directors and specialists in the fields of cinema and Visual Effects Production (VFX); 
• teaching staff with great organisational and creative skills, including internationally renowned artists and researchers; 
• use of the School of Arts' technical and artistic resources (image and sound capture equipment; image and sound post-production laboratories; exhibition hall; library). 
• teaching aimed at the development of individual projects, both in the area of artistic creation and professionalisation; 
• possibility of teaching entirely in English (attracting international students); 
• project methodology based on a direct relationship with the teachers
