| WORKSHOP 1 - ANIMATION DO DENTRO AO TRAÇO (FROM THE INSIDE TO THE LINE) Carina Corso |
The workshop “from the inside to the line” was conceived as a space for experimentation in mixed-media animation, with text serving as the backbone of the artistic creation. In order to create a short collective animation, we will use the cadavre exquis method in order to compose a moving collage of sensations evoked by the words. The participants will be invited to engage not only in an inward journey, but also an exploration of the other. The workshop will be divided into three parts: a brief presentation of my work and creative process; reading of the text; assigning paragraphs to participants; experimentation with materials; animation. No advanced knowledge of animation or drawing is required; a variety of materials will be provided to suit each person’s expressive style. Participants: Max.15 Bio note: Carina Corso is a Brazilian visual artist living in Portugal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from IA-UNICAMP and a master’s degree in Sound and Image with a specialization in Animation from EA-UCP. She directed the short film “Tudo o que fica na superfície morre” (2022), a project developed during the first year of her master’s program. Her most recent work is the short film “Daninha” (2024), produced by Studio Kimchi. Throughout her body of work, Carina demonstrates an interest in the expression of human subjectivity, seeking to communicate personal experiences, with special attention to the materiality of the media and techniques used. |

| WORKSHOP 2 - BD ENTRE LINHAS (IN BETWEEN THE LINES) Sofia Neto |
Comics present themselves to the reader as a sequence of images and text, as well as a sequence of suggestions and ellipses. What remains unshown and unsaid invites the reader to contribute and fill in the gaps as a co-author. Drawing also appears as a synthesis, in which the non-essential is discarded and everything that remains is imbued with meaning. This workshop aims to explore the potential and test the limits of ellipsis and off-screen space in comic strips, as well as the communicative power of drawing through the use of black line and solid black areas. Participants: Max.15 Materials: A3 paper (Bristol type, at least 3 sheets per participant); Graphite pencil; India ink; Paintbrushes (fine and medium); Fine black pen/Pen body and refill; Ruler; Eraser. Bio note: Sofia Neto is a comic book author, illustrator, teacher, and researcher. She has published several comic books, including *Cicatriz* (Polvo), and has contributed to various comic book and illustration anthologies, as well as to a range of projects as an illustrator. She holds a PhD in Children’s Illustration from ARU/Cambridge School of Art, a master’s degree in Comics from EESI/Université de Poitiers in Angoulême, and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts - Multimedia from FBAUP.
