Jaime Neves (Vila do Conde, 1972) has a PhD in Science and Technology of the Arts from the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University.
He is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Arts and a Researcher at CITAR - Centre for Research in Science and Technology of the Arts.
In the field of research, he focuses on themes related to cinema and education, Portuguese cinema, the history of cinema, cinema and technology, film grammar and practice and the aesthetics of colour and black and white in cinema.
In cinema and audiovisual, he works in the areas of directing, producing, cinematography, editing and distribution.
He is a member of "AIM - Associação de Investigadores da Imagem" and a board member of "Cabe Cave - Associação Cultural", where he has been active in cultural production and programming, with a strong focus on film.
He is frequently invited to programme and sit on the jury of various national and international film festivals.
