The film “Sadness Comes in Waves”, by Joana Leal, a student on the MA in Sound and Image at School of Arts, won the Best Animated Film award at the 33rd edition of the EUROSHORTS YOUNG FILMMAKERS international festival, which is taking place in Poland. The festival began on December 2 and runs until December 16, 2024.
The Young Cinema Foundation film festival, later called Euroshorts, was established in 1992 in Warsaw, Poland, followed by the international short film competition - 7 years later. Our aim is to promote and support young artists.
To date, it has screened more than 2,000 films made by young filmmakers and we have awarded prizes to the best. Many of its participants have had significant success in their artistic careers. Since 2011, the Festival's premiere events have been held in Gdansk.
