Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival 2024 kicked off on November 22 with a program that runs until November 30, with screenings and various activities in the city's different cultural venues.
In its 11th edition, the festival's competitive program includes two productions from School of Arts. The films 'Gardunha', by Ana Vilela da Costa, and 'Uma Crosta de Ferro', by Vasco Barbedo, are competing in the Cinema Novo section.
The Cinema Novo Competition brings together a group of short films that reflect the emerging talent of Portuguese and international students studying in Portugal.
Gardunha was screened today, November 26, and An Iron Crust will be screened tomorrow, November 27, at 15h15. The screenings take place at Passos Manuel.
As part of the Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival 2024 program, a masterclass led by director Salomé Jashi will be held on November 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ilídio Pinho Auditorium. Admission is free.
This year, the festival's central theme is “The People's Movement”, a critical reflection on the future of Europe and its democratic values, with a program that will run until 2026.

Synopsis:
In a remote rural area, a woman on the run has a supernatural encounter surrounded by enigmatic sounds. As she immerses herself in that reality, she is confronted with unexpected phenomena that her rational mind cannot understand.
"UMA CROSTA DE FERRO", Vasco Barbedo (Documentary, 20 minutes)
Synopsis:
A dialog set in an industrial zone somewhere in the north of Portugal. The listener, a Portuguese national, asks questions and receives answers from the interlocutor, a Brazilian national. Reflection on factory work, industry, workers' efforts, pollution and the role of immigrants in our society.
