From October 8 to 12, Batalha Centro de Cinema, Passos Manuel and Casa Comum will host the 10th edition of Queer Porto - International Queer Film Festival.

This is the national film festival with the specific purpose of showing films with gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex and other non-normative sexualities and identities, in a genre coined internationally as “Queer Cinema”.

This year, Laetitia Morais, artist and professor at the Escola das Artes, is part of the jury for the festival's Official Competition, along with researcher and producer Claire Sivier, producer Paulo Silva and artist and performer Tiago Aires Lêdo.

The official competition includes a selection of 8 feature films and documentaries produced in the previous year and the year of the Festival. Works that mix and dialog between fiction, documentary and docufiction, always with a view to cinematic quality and pertinent queer narratives. It is essential that this section allows viewers to have access to the most relevant titles of this cinema, in terms of the international circuit, with a clear focus on geographical diversity.
