Four films developed by students from the School of Arts were recently selected for prestigious film festivals in the United States, Brazil, and Portugal, further strengthening the international presence of the creative work produced at the School.
The documentary Água que Ferve, by Diana Gonçalves (BA in Film), received the PrimeirOlhar 2025 Award at the 25th edition of the Encontros de Cinema de Viana, taking place on 10 May in Viana do Castelo.
The film Valsas na Lua, by Francisco Parcerias (BA in Film), is part of the 15th edition of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival, with screenings scheduled for 24 May at the Tribeca Film Center and 25 June at Lincoln Center, in New York.
Naufragia, by Carolina Vaz Rebelo (BA in Sound and Image), was selected for the Short Way International Short Film Festival, to be held on 16 August in São Paulo, Brazil.
Finally, the film Berro, by Gabriel Andrade (BA in Film), will be screened at the 2025 edition of Rebentos – Mostra de Cinema Emergente, taking place from 12 September to 30 November in Sintra.
