Fading Apparition
Portugal, 2023, Video Essay, 9'37''
Direction: Vasco Vasconcelos
Synopsis: In Weerasethakul’s films, sleep is a form of resistance in a contemporary world that seeks to break its cycles. Using some of the director’s images together with varied sound references, this video essay aims to create an experience without beginning and end but, like sleep, with a cyclic structure.
