Next Sunday, May 18, is International Museum Day, an initiative developed by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) with the aim of highlighting the importance of museums in the production and dissemination of knowledge.

As part of this celebration, Carla Guimarães, alumna on the MA in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at School of Arts, was invited to take part in the initiative “Communicating Research in the Museum” promoted by the Museu Nacioal Soares dos Reis (MNSR).

“Miniature Ivory Paintings: Conservation and Restoration Challenges” is the title of Carla Guimarães' presentation, which reflects on her master's thesis work, on the museum's collection.

The meeting is scheduled for May 18, at 3pm, and will seek to highlight the research that has recently been carried out and which is the result of cooperation with higher education institutions or inclusion in national programs.
