Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
a) To know the formation and structure of the wood;
b) To know its properties, constitution, defects and behavior;
c) To understand and identify the degradation mechanisms and the respective pathologies;
d) To know the artistic technologies involved in the production of three-dimensional works of wood, namely of carving, sculpture and furniture;
e) To know the exams and analyzes used in the wood supports;
f) to develop fundamental theoretical and practical skills in the definition of a basic preventive or curative conservation methodology;
g) To know the scientific and methodological foundations that guide the development of a conservation and restoration intervention;
h) At the end of the semester, the student should be able to identify the most frequent problems in wooden works, prepare the respective diagnosis, define a treatment methodology, and carry out the corresponding operations.
