Preservation and Conservation Techniques I (Inorganic Materials)

Gaining knowledge and skills on the following topics:

  • theoretical concepts, specific terminology and ethical principles that govern the discipline of Conservation and restoration;
  • methodologies for the characterisation of the conservation condition of cultural objects in stone, ceramics and mortars – from diagnostics to intervention proposals;
  • conservation and restoration methodologies for objects in stone, ceramic and mortars, including activities, procedures and products/materials;
  • methodologies for the documentation of conservation and restoration interventions, including surveys and intervention reports;
  • the interdisciplinary nature of conservation and restoration.
