	Rosângela Rennó May – July 2024 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality Rosângela Rennó, Belo Horizonte, 1962, lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. Graduated in architecture from the School of Architecture of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte (1986) and in fine arts from the Guignard School, Belo Horizonte (1987). PhD in arts from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo, São Paulo (1997)
	Matthew C. Wilson April – July 2023 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality Matthew C. Wilson is an American artist, filmmaker and researcher. In his videos, sculptures and installations, viewers encounter a variety of agents - mercurial materials, locals, non-humans, characters and intersubjective entities - that are entangled in ever-changing natural processes and historical forces. Her projects use research-based, site-specific, and methodologically eclectic approaches to trace the inertia of modernity through the contemporary ecological crisis and into speculative futures. Wilson holds an MFA in Visual Arts from Columbia University. She has participated in the Whitney Independent Study Program and numerous residencies, including the Jan van Eyck Academie, Skowhegan, CSAV - Artists' Research Laboratory at Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Tabakalera Artistic Research Residency, Terra Foundation Summer Residency.
	Letícia Ramos September – December 2022 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality Letícia Ramos is a scientist artist who explores new ways of representing the world through inventions in photographic media. Starting from historical events and natural phenomena, she addresses the symbolic connections between politics, science and imagination where the future and the past overlap. In his rigorous investigation of the analogue photographic medium, he uses sculpture, models and special effects techniques to create imaginary landscapes, narratives and fabrications that are formalized in photographs, installations and films.
	Alice Miceli October – December 2021 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality Alice Miceli's work (Rio de Janeiro, 1980) alternates between video and photography, frequently starting from the investigation of historical events and exploratory journeys, through which she reconstructs cultural and physical traces of past traumas inflicted on social and natural landscapes. Her work is part of important international collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (USA) and Moscow Biennale Art Foundation (Russia).
	Matias Piñeiro March – July 2021 Supported by the Gulbenkian Foundation Matías Piñeiro (Buenos Aires, 1982) is one of the most important names in the new generation of South American directors. He has affirmed a distinct voice, with inventive films that freely rely on classic dramatic texts to explore the power of desire and language and the brutality of loneliness, in fragmented narratives that speculate on cinema's potential to tell complex and multiple character stories. He has presented his films in many of the major international film festivals including Berlinale, Locarno, Toronto, New York and San Sebastian andmuseums like Tate Modern and MoMa. His work has been the object of retrospectivese in venues such as Jeu de Paume Musée du Louvre, Cinematek (Brussels), Filmoteca Española – Cine Doré (Madrid), Arsenal – Cinematek (Berlin). As a programmer, he has been collaborating with Punto de Vista Film Festival and the legendary Anthology Film Archives, among others. As for teaching experience, Matias Piñeiro has been working with the Pratt Institute (New York) since 2016 and has collaborated with schools and universities such has Le Fresnoy – Studio Natuional des Arts Contemporains, CalArts and Deutsche Film-und Fernsehakademie Berlin - DFFB.
	Igor Jesus September 2020 – July 2021 School of Arts Residency Program Igor Jesus lives and works between Lisbon and Berlin, where he is currently on a residency at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, until December 2017, sponsored by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. He has a degree in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon University. In 2013, he won first prize at the ICA (Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual) competition for directing short films. His solo exhibitions include: Chessari (2016), Galeria Solar, Vila do Conde, A última carta ao Pai Natal (2015), Galeria Filomena Soares e Debaixo do Sol (2015), Appleton Square, both in Lisbon. In 2014 he presented the exhibition Old School #32, in Lisbon, and in 2013, Peso Morto, Espaço Zero, Tomar. Among his more recent collective exhibitions, we highlight: HangarOut – EntreLinhas, Palácio Marquês de Abrantes (2017), 2016 Artists' Film International (at MAAT, Lisbon, Whitechapel Gallery, London, Istanbul Modern, Turkey, GAMeC – Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo, Italy, and Project 88, Bombay, India); Topología del Aura, Galeria Bacelos, Madrid (2016), Abaixo as fronteiras! 	Ben Russell September 2020 - December 2020 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality Ben Russell (Massachusetts, 1976) is an artist, curator and filmmaker whose work is at the intersection of ethnography and psychedelicism. His films and installations emerge from a permanent dialogue with the history and semiotics of the documentary image, in a reexamination of the codes and the immersive and mimetic potential of the cinematographic apparatus, which encompasses a wide temporal and geographic research around ritual practice and altered states of consciousness, while evoking the works of authors such as Jean Rouch, Maya Deren or Michael Snow.
	Vasco Araújo September 2019 - September 2020 School of Arts Residency Program Vasco Araújo (Lisboa, 1975) is a well-established name in the contemporary art scene. Winner of the EDP New Artists award in 2003, he has had, since then, several individual and collective exhibitions in important venues and events such as the Serralves Museum, Gasworks, Jeu de Paume, Venice Biennale or Palais de Tokyo. His body of work goes from sculpture, to photography and film, dealing with themes of memory, identity or theatricallity in engaging transmedia installations. Vasco Araújo produced the exhibition/film Pathosformel during the period of his residence.
	Yohei Yamakado September 2019 - December 2019 Supported by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Yohei Yamakado (Kobe, 1987) lives in France, where he has been developing sound and visual pieces. Since 2017 he's been attending Le Fresnoy – Studio National des arts contemporains, where he directed the movies La lyre à jamais illustra le taudis (2018) and Amor Omnia (2019). Yamakado is also a musician and in 2012 he was one of the founders of the label RÉCIT. His movies also explore the relationship between sound and image. He has presented his work in venues like LʼOnde (2018), Nuit Blanche Kyoto (2015, 2016, 2017), Towada Art Center (2016), Institut Goethe-Paris (2014) ou IRCAM (2014).
	Jonathan Uliel Saldanha January – April 2019 School of Arts Residency Program Sonic and scenic constructor, working within the interception of sound, gesture, voice, stage and film. Operating elements of pre-language, generative choirs, acoustic animism, echo, mimicry and intra-cranial-dub.  Studied Tabla, with Hindustani music ensemble Jugalbandi. Studied sculpture at Faculdade Belas Artes Porto. Founder of SOOPA collective (1999), and co-founder of SILORUMOR label, part of FUJAKO duo, director of HHY & The Macumbas. Since 2010 has composed a series of sistems for voice, electronic and resonant spaces: TEUFEL RADAR, choir and antena; KHŌROS ANIMA, choir, sub-bass, industrial space; SANCTA VISCERA TUA, gesture, light, percussion, termites and choir; SILVO UMBRA choir, light and spheric space; ILINX mixed choir and resonant space; PLETHORA mixed choir and radial electronics.  Co-creator of the stage pieces BOCA MURALHA, SHARK, REI TRILOGY and director for the pieces JUNGLE MACHINE, KHORUS ANIMA, O POÇO and OXIDATION MACHINE presented in venues like Serralves Museum, Accès(s) Festival, Rivoli TMP and Palais de Tokyo. At the end of his residency Jonathan Uliel Saldanha presented the performance “Scotoma Cintilante” and an exhibition documenting the full process of creation of the work titled “Dismorfia”.
	Ana Vaz April - June 2019 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality Ana Vaz is an artist and filmmaker whose films, installations and performances speculate upon the relationships between myth and history, self and other through a cosmology of references and perspectives. Assemblages of found and shot materials, her films combine ethnography    speculation in exploring the f(r)ictions imprinted upon cultivated and savage environments. A graduate from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Le Fresnoy, Ana was also a member of the SPEAP (School of Political Arts), a project directed by Bruno Latour. Recent screenings of her work include the NYFF, TIFF, Courtisane, Cinéma du Réel (Grand Prix) and specific focuses dedicated to her work at the Flaherty Seminar (USA) and Doc's Kingdom (Portugal). Her work has featured in major group shows such as the Moscow Biennial of Young Art and the Dhaka Art Summit. In 2015, she received the Kazuko Trust Award presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center in recognition of artistic excellence and innovation in her moving-image work.
	Nuno da Luz October - December 2018 Supported by InResidence, program promoted by the Porto Municipality For his residency, Nuno da Luz researched the surrounding of the School of Arts. He was interested in investigating the maritime specificities of the Foz do Douro (where the Douro river comes to meet the ocean). After practicing a critical and attentive observation, he collected that sounds and data of the waves movement from the Instituto Hidrográfico. He later was able to recreate this environment in an immersive sound and light installation. Nuno da Luz (Lisbon, 1984) lives and works in Berlin. Artist and publisher, his work circumscribes both aural and visual in the form of events, installations and printed matter; the latter mostly distributed through the publisher atlas Projectos (run together with artists André Romão and Gonçalo Sena) and the record label Palmario Recordings (run together with the artist Joana Escoval). He recently completed the Master Program of Experimentation in Art and Politics speap at Sciences Po, Paris, and founded coyote, a cross-cutting collective working on print, film, lectures and other experimental forms (together with artists Tristan Bera and Ana Vaz, journalist Elida Høeg and editor Clémence Seurat).
	Salomé Lamas October 2017 - June 2018 School of Arts Residency Program For her residency in the SoA, Salomé Lamas focused on her project about Transnistria, an unrecognized state that broke away from the former Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic of the Soviet Union in 1990. She worked on the post-production of would come to be Extinction, the film she released later that year. The residency resulted in an exhibition that included several elements that performed in an art gallery setting. Stills from the film, recontextualized as sets of small photographies, a video projection, and documentation of her travel in the disputed territories. Salomé Lamas (Lisbon) studied cinema in Lisbon and Prague, visual arts in Amsterdam and is a Ph.D candidate in contemporary art studies in Coimbra. Her work has been screened both in art venues and film festivals such as Berlinale, BAFICI, Museo Arte Reina Sofia, FIAC, MNAC – Museu do Chiado, DocLisboa, Cinema du Réel, Visions du Réel, MoMA – Museum of Modern Art, Museo Guggenheim Bilbao, Harvard Film Archive, Museum of Moving Images NY, Jewish Museum NY, Fid Marseille, Arsenal Institut fur film und videokunst, Viennale, Culturgest, CCB - Centro Cultural de Belém, Hong Kong FF, Museu Serralves, Tate Modern, CPH: DOX, Centre d’Art Contemporain de Genève, Bozar , Tabakalera, ICA London, TBA 21 Foundation, Mostra de São Paulo, CAC Vilnius, MALBA, FAEMA, SESC São Paulo, MAAT, La Biennale di Venezia Architettura, among others. Lamas was granted several fellowships such as The Gardner Film Study Center Fellowship – Harvard University, The Rockefeller Foundation – Bellagio Center, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Fondación Botín, Sundance, Bogliasco Foundation, The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Berliner Künstlerprogramm des DAAD. She continues to collaborate with the School of Arts and collaborates also with Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola. She collaborates with the production company O Som e a Fúria and is represented by Miguel Nabinho Gallery.
