The 1st Portuguese Jewelry Colloquium was held in Porto in 1997. Later, in 2008, the II Colloquium was held and, in 2011, the III Colloquium. The proceedings of these three scientific meetings made it possible to disseminate a set of studies of great value to the knowledge of this art at a national level, demonstrating the progress made in research into the different aspects that silverware and jewelry have taken on in Portugal.
The IV Portuguese Jewelry Colloquium will feature two international guests who, in the opening and closing lectures of this scientific event, will bring different readings on aspects of European goldsmithing.
