At the end of the curricular unit, the student is expected to be able to:
a) Understand the medial specificity of animation cinema and its narratological implications;
b) Understand the importance of animated cinema in the cultural history of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries;
c) Understand the development of animation cinema as an artistic discipline, economic sector and area of
theoretical investigation;
d) Analyze works using theoretical tools developed in the area of animation studies;
e) Compare and relate animation cinema with other types of artistic production, namely with the band
drawn and the other sequential arts.
f) Develop your critical thinking in relation to this art form;
g) Develop autonomous speculative skills applied to animation;
h) Recognize, describe and contextualize conceptual, historical and sociological aspects of this art form;
i) Produce a written document that analyzes one or more aspects of this art form.
