The 11th edition of Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival kicked off on November 22 and ended last Saturday, November 30. Among the distinguished films, “Uma Crosta de Ferro” by Vasco Barbedo won the Canal 180 Award in the New Cinema section.
According to the Jury's statement, Uma Crosta de Ferro “(...) shows the strongest directorial gesture. The film presents an original cinematographic form in favor of a precise vision of the working class in Portugal today.”
Canal 180's Cinema Novo Competition prize, which is dedicated to films made by Portuguese students or students studying in Portugal, awards €500 to the winning film.

UMA CROSTA DE FERRO by Vasco Barbedo (Documentary, 20 minuts)
Synopsis:
A dialog set in an industrial area somewhere in the north of Portugal. The listener, a Portuguese national, asks questions and receives answers from the interlocutor, a Brazilian national. Reflection on factory work, industry, workers' efforts, pollution and the role of immigrants in our society.
