During October and November, School of Arts is promoting a program of masterclasses dedicated to cinema, in partnership with some of the most important festivals such as Doclisboa, Doc's Kingdom, and Porto/Post/Doc: Film & Media Festival. The sessions, which are open to the public, will take place in the Ilídio Pinho Auditorium and will be attended by international filmmakers and artists.

In partnership with Doclisboa, the School of Arts welcomes filmmaker Ross McElwee, one of the leading names in contemporary documentary filmmaking. The masterclass takes place in the context of the screening of his latest film, Remake. The session will be moderated by Carlos Natálio. +info

Artist Shaina Anand, a founding member of the CAMP collective, leads a masterclass in partnership with Doc's Kingdom, exploring her collaborative practices. The session will be moderated by Daniel Ribas. Days before the session, a mini-cycle featuring two films by the collective will be screened. +info

In collaboration with Porto/Post/Doc, director Lina Soualem presents a masterclass on her work and career, as part of a retrospective dedicated to the filmmaker. The session will be moderated by Carlos Ruiz. +info

Romanian director Andrei Ujică, a central figure in European political cinema, closes the program with a masterclass dedicated to his career. The session will be moderated by Alice Leroy. +info
