Sound Arts and Technologies

5 ECTS / Semester / English, Portuguese

By the end of the curricular unit, students should be able to:

a) Provide the student with a set of fundamental knowledge that allows him to identify and recognize the major currents of the sonic arts in their most diverse formats.
b) Provide the student with a set of basic aesthetic, artistic and theoretical knowledge about sound and its artistic expression that could make sense in the development of a practical project.
c) In addition to the production of knowledge, the UC will also be oriented towards the production of two projects of individual creation. The first project must have the format of an academic / scientific article and must have an analytical and critical approach about a current or an author and its implications and ramifications in the current sound art. The second project will have a more practical format and should be the development of an artistic artefact linked to contemporary currents of sound art. This project will be evaluated both for its conceptual component as well as for its artistic and application value.
