The curricular unit of Project IV intends to approach cinematographic creation techniques that defy conventional filmic practices and explore alternative formats for producing meanings and experiences through image and sound. At the end of the semester, students are expected to have developed conceptual, reflexive, technical, creative and artistic skills, patented and evidenced in the production of an experimental short film.
Students should be able to:
Module 1: Research for Experimental Film
a) Understand the basic concepts and practices that define experimental cinema.
b) Know and dominate strategies of research and pre-production which are specific of experimental films.
Module 2: Directing and Montage for Experimental Film
c) Understand and master specific techniques and directing processes of experimental cinema.
d) Know and apply processes and tools of audio-visual editing and experimental post-production.
