History of Cinema VI

4 ECTS / Semestral / English, Portuguese

After completing this curricular unit, students should be able to:

a) Understand the last years of the twentieth century in the broad context of Film’s History.
b) Understand the possibilities of production and expression enhanced by the introduction of video and digital in film practices in the late twentieth century, as well as the challenges posed by the narrative fragmentation and complexification.
c) Identify the features of international film movements and contexts of the late twentieth century.
d) Elaborate independent and well-founded criticisms and analysis on outstanding works and authors of international cinema at the threshold of the twentieth century.
