Digital Culture

4 ECTS / Semestral / English, Portuguese

At the end of the Digital Culture curricular unit, students should be able to:

a) recognize the methodologies for Digital Culture’s study;
b) discuss the production, mediation and reception of digital arts;
c) discuss and criticize digital as a technological and cultural phenomenon;
d) understand and debate the central aspects of digital subjectivity, both in their individuality and in their sociability;
e) understand and debate the status of digital image and its modes of mediation;
f) recognize the main origins and strands of digital arts;
g) recognize the difficulties and possibilities of the preservation of digital art works.
