Access to CCD infrastructures
With regard to access to the CDD infrastructure, two types of users are defined (which are treated similarly from a scientific point of view): users from the National Scientific and Technological System (SCTN) and External Users. The first type includes individual researchers, Research Groups or Research Units, who wish to request access and time to use the equipment or services available on the CCD's infrastructure. The latter includes artists and independent researchers, other institutions and organisations, start-ups and any business or company.
Definition of time of use
Access to the infrastructure will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Session times will be scheduled on a monthly basis and adjustments will be made depending on variations in activity. Researchers who book a permanent slot will be responsible for paying for it, whether they use it or not. The time spent using the CCD equipment will be allocated according to the following criteria:
50 per cent to the institution hosting the equipment;
30 per cent to the other institutions that make up the SCTN;
20% for services to external companies and institutions.
Custo de uso da infraestrutura CCD
The support team should include at least one research technician to provide services, general maintenance of the equipment and guarantee its normal scientific and technical operation. The essential maintenance and repair of this equipment must be ensured by maintenance contracts with the equipment suppliers (or an authorised representative) and the costs must be included in the operating costs.
The price for users belonging to institutions that are part of the SCTN will be calculated on the basis of the actual cost and will be updated annually, taking into account the possibility of external funding, namely from FCT/MCTES.
The CCD will set the operating costs to be charged to external users in accordance with market prices, so as to operate according to market and competition laws, becoming CCD revenue. The CCD will determine the technical administrative procedures to be adopted for their collection. The funds resulting from payments from external users are mainly intended to cover operating, maintenance and equipment replacement costs.
The price list for each service provided by the CCD is available on request.
