He graduated in Art History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon; Advanced Photography Course at Ar.Co – Center for Art and Visual Communication. Together with Duarte Amaral Netto, João Paulo Serafim and Rodrigo Peixoto he founded HÉLICE (School of Photography) and the magazine PROPELLER.
