Gabriel Abrantes (Chapel Hill, USA, 1984) lives and works between New York and Lisbon. He has shown his work regularly in museums such as Tate Britain (London), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), MIT List Visual Arts Center (Boston), Serralves Museum (Porto), or Kunst-Werke (Berlin), and has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, including: ICA (London), Lincoln Centre (New York), Caixa Forum (Madrid), CAM -Gulbenkian (Lisbon), among many others. He was the winner of the 8th edition of the EDP Awards (2009), received the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival in 2010, and the EFA award at the Berlin Film Festival in 2014 and 2016. He was a guest artist at the 32nd São Paulo Biennial (2016) and the Moving Image Biennial - Centre d'art Contemporain de Geneva (Switzerland).
