Filipa César (Porto, 1975) is an artist and director based in Berlin, interested in the fictional aspects of documentary, the blurred boundaries between cinema and its reception, and the politics and poetics inherent in the moving image. Her work includes art installations that have been exhibited all over the world, such as "F for Fake", "Rapport", "Le Passeur", "The Four Chambered Heart" or "Menogram". Her filmography includes films such as "Mined Soil", "Spell Reel" and "Sunstone". Since 2011, Filipa César has been researching the origins of militant cinema in Guinea-Bissau and its imagery, as part of the collective project Luta ca caba inda (the struggle is not over yet).
