Objectives:
a) Address the issues associated with the materiality and conceptuality of contemporary art.
b) Provide data on how to reflect and document a contemporary work of art.
c) Discuss the theoretical limits of conservation-restoration intervention according to the different types of work.
d) Understand the ethical criteria of conservation-restoration intervention in the context of contemporary art.
e) Present specific cases.
At the end of the curricular unit, students who complete it will be able to:
a) To know the problem between materiality and concept in contemporary works of art.
b) To design the data necessary for the correct documentation of a contemporary work of art.
c) Interpret the theoretical concepts involved in a conservation-restoration intervention of contemporary works.
d) Critically reflect on a conservation-restoration intervention and what are the implications in the documentation process.
e) Properly apply acquired knowledge.
