The Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prof. Dr. Isabel Capeloa Gil, hereby announces an international selection tender for one vacancy of doctorate auxiliary researcher to perform duties of scientific and artistic research, on an exclusivity basis, in the scientific field of New Media Art. The research activities are to be carried out at the Research Centre of Science and Technology of Arts – CITAR, integrated at the School of arts of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Porto, within the 
framework of the Agreement-Program of Institutional Support Selection Procedure (articles 17, 19, and 28 of the Scientific Employment Regulation) signed between the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. ( FCT,IP) and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).

The research activities to perform will be done in the context of the focus-area Sound and New Media Art, whose goals are to research the contemporary artistic practices in these two connected fields, putting in practice research projects and activities that can foster those goals, namely by working together with the other researchers on mapping and develop strategies for artistic-related outputs 
with a technological base. The activities on this focus-area are the organization of one main conference, other seminars, and congresses; the editing and publishing of books and journals; and the curation of exhibitions and film screenings, series of conferences, or other forms of artistic-based research.
