Sylvie Saerens will present the work and legacy of Charles-Émile Reynaud, a pioneering figure in the history of cinema and animation. A French inventor and filmmaker, Émile Reynaud was responsible, starting in 1892, for organizing the first animated projections on screen in front of an audience. His contribution was crucial to the development of cinematic language, introducing innovative techniques in animation and the creation of moving images, without the use of a film camera.
The masterclass will take place on April 28th at 4:00 PM, in room EC138-B, and is organized by the Escola das Artes and Casa da Animação.
