The second edition of Prémios Curtas took place last Saturday in Lisbon, where the winners of the different categories were announced, including two teachers from School of Arts.
Pedro Marinho, Bernardo Bento, EA's Sound Design professor, and Vasco Carvalho, EA's Sound and Image Master's Coordinator, were awarded in the Best Sound/Sound Effects category for their animated short film Ana Morphose (2023).The film Ana Morphose was directed by João Rodrigues, a Sound and Image student at the Escola das Artes and produced by Bando À Parte, a production company founded by another EA student, Rodrigo Areias.
The Curtas Awards aim to distinguish Portuguese cinema in the short format, in short films, regardless of their genre, as this format almost always represents the first works of young directors, which due to their structure are easier to make and demonstrate in themselves the creativity of national film creators.
