As part of its educational mission, the School of Arts develops a set of programs and initiatives integrated in its Education Service for primary and secondary education, in cooperation with school groupings, which propose new forms of cultural participation, in a perspective of informal learning and sharing of curiosities and knowledge related to the themes of the arts.

One of the most recent activities, entitled "The curse of the figurative: comparing, telling and narrating", took the students from the Colégio Internato dos Carvalho to the School of Arts to explore the world of stories. The initiative took as its starting point the exhibition "Serpentine", by artist Adriana Molder, which includes nine large-scale drawings and a Stop Motion film.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to interact directly with the artist, who accompanied the activity, stimulating reflection about the visual elements presented in the exhibition. Students were encouraged to express their creativity and writing and improvisation skills to create stories inspired by the film and the drawings exhibited, establishing relationships between them.

EA believes that these experiences contribute to the integral formation of students, broadening their horizons and encouraging the development of creative and critical skills, as well as direct contact with art.
