The Rectory of Universidade Católica Portuguesa invites everyone to the opening of the Enciclopédia Negra exhibition at the Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery, in the Rectory Building of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.

After four months at School of the Arts in Porto, the Enciclopédia Negra exhibition is now preparing to arrive in the capital, where it will be inaugurated on October 17 at 6pm at the Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.

This exhibition, a partnership with the Pinacoteca de São Paulo and School of Arts, will be on show until December 13, 2024.

Enciclopédia Negra aims to increase the visibility of hitherto little-known black personalities. Curated by Flávio Gomes, Jaime Lauriano and Lilia Moritz Schwarcz, the exhibition features 104 portraits produced by 36 contemporary artists of black personalities who shaped Brazilian culture, society and history.
