The films by alumni Rafael Ferreira and Leonor Faria Henriques, produced in the context of their Sound and Image Undergraduate and the Sound and Image Master - Animation, respectively, were selected for the 14th edition of the New York Portuguese Short Film Festival, dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of Portuguese film productions.

Carta ao Pai, by Rafael Ferreira, and A minha casa tem muitas janelas, by Leonor Faria Henriques, will be screened on 2 July at 7pm at Lincoln Center in New York.

Rafael Ferreira's short film is intended as an autobiographical record. Made up of images from his childhood and everyday life, the film is presented as an audiovisual poem, a letter addressed to his father, in an attempt to get closer, share and repair the relationship between the two. The project was realised in the context of the Sound and Image Undergraduate and was supervised by Professor Jaime Neves

The starting point for Leonor Faria Henriques' animated film is the feeling of loneliness and the exploration of strategies to convey this type of feeling and how to deal with it to a younger audience, particularly children between the ages of 6 and 11. Establishing a relationship with the pandemic situation and its impact on the lives of children who found themselves confined and isolated during this period. The project was carried out in the context of the Sound and Image Master - Animation, and was supervised by Professor Sahra Kunz.
