Each year, School of Arts has been present at Doclisboa - International Film Festival, whether represented by productions by its students, alumni or teachers, or through partnerships it has developed.
In this 21st edition of the festival, which took place between October 19 and 29, the Escola das Artes maintained its partnership with Arché, a space that aims to provide tools and moments of reflection and training for the creation of new film projects, guaranteeing their identity and quality. Arché welcomed film projects from 10 countries around the world, including Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Spain, who came to Lisbon for an exchange of experiences with industry professionals and mentoring from experienced filmmakers.
In the context of this partnership, School of Arts, Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Arché Special Jury Prize for a Project in the Writing or Development Phase, worth €2000, was once again presented. This prize was awarded by the jury - made up of André Guiomar, Julien Rejl, Lina González, Narimane Mari and Paula Astorga - to one of the 12 projects in the competition. This year, the prize went to Una Cierta Civilización, by Argentinian Leandro Listorti
During 2023, School of Arts partnered with the main Portuguese film festivals as a way of supporting the development of Portuguese cinema and broadening the reach of the films presented there.
