As part of the celebration of Teatro Praga's 30th anniversary, School of Arts of Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto invited the company to conceive an exhibition about its history. Curated by Nuno Crespo, WOW: Retrospective marks Teatro Praga's unprecedented entry into unfamiliar territory: the visual arts.

It is yet another risk that Teatro Praga is taking, to be sure. That is why the title immediately serves as a marker of relief: “wow” is an English interjection that expresses both surprise and admiration, positive or negative. Contrary to the idea of linear time and remaining faithful to its tradition of fakism, Teatro Praga constructs a story that is both false and true: on the one hand, a retrospective of the company's objects over the last three decades; on the other, a retrospective of a cycle of exhibitions presented during a week in February 2026 at Rua das Gaivotas 6. All true, all lies.

Entitled Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, between February 23 and 28, 2026, each night saw the opening of a new exhibition at Rua das Gaivotas 6, the company's headquarters, conceived and assembled in real time by the artists. Different works, in different spaces, activated by different people. Based on previous creations and ideas yet to be realized, with eyes firmly fixed on what was yet to come, works were chosen that contained or implied a performative dimension—present, past, or future—including pieces performed by the company, as well as pieces made or activated with and by the audience. Outside the theater, outside the spotlights, outside the applause.

The objects and openings of that week were recorded and constituted as material for WOW: Retrospective, the exhibition presented at the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Porto, which does not assume itself as a true end, but as the opening of a new era. The exhibition WOW: Retrospective brings together all the works and exhibitions that were opened, projecting them into a future perspective: a tomorrow.

And, as the title indicates, whether you like it or not, the important thing is that something is set in motion. Especially because taste is not a criterion in art.

And now, everyone: wow.
