Velvet Goldmine is a homage to the glam rock era of the 1970s. The film follows Arthur Stuart, a journalist, as he investigates the rise and mysterious fall of Brian Slade, a Bowie-esque rock star who faked his own assassination on stage and disappeared from public life. The story unfolds through a series of interviews and flashbacks, revealing Slade's turbulent relationships with fellow musician Curt Wild and his manager, while exploring themes of identity, fame, and the fluidity of sexuality. Velvet Goldmine is a celebration of artistic rebellion and the cultural revolutions of the time.
