In this program of four films, the student José Antunes, from the degree in Cinema, proposes the discovery of the work of one of the best African filmmakers.
A cart driver fights daily for survival after heading to the city, trying to understand and help his customers who find themselves in the same situation. Sembène's first work is a a short film about the state of Senegal, three years after independence, exploring post-colonial trauma.
In search of a better life, a Senegalese woman travels to France to work as a housekeeper for a white couple. She deals with situations of discrimination and cultural shock, which makes her question her move to Europe.
