The Soundtrack Curricular Unit intends to analyze how music assumes itself as a problematizing and participating element in the context of a cinematographic story, feeding dialogues and contrasts between sound and image that add layers of meaning to what the spectator sees and interprets.

Thus, it is intended to foster in students the following knowledge and skills:

a) Understand the impact of music on the meanings of image and film;
b) Understand the articulation of music with other sound components of the film (dialogues, noises, ambiences, etc.);
c) Know several styles and possibilities of musical composition for cinema;
d) To master theoretical and practical tools of musical composition for cinema;
e) Develop an individual and artistic profile and perspective with regard to film music composition.
