David Joselit
Joselit began his career as a curator at The ICA in Boston from 1983-1989. After receiving his PhD from Harvard in 1995, he has taught at the University of California, Irvine, and Yale University where he was Department Chair from 2006-09, and most recently at the CUNY Graduate Center. Joselit is author of Infinite Regress: Marcel Duchamp 1910-1941 (MIT, 1998), American Art Since 1945 (Thames and Hudson, 2003), Feedback: Television Against Democracy (MIT, 2007), and After Art (Princeton University Press, 2012).
Delfim Sardo
Delfim Sardo (Aveiro, 1962) is a Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and Administrator of the Centro Cultural de Belém. He holds a PhD in Contemporary Art from the University of Coimbra, he was a Consultant at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Director of the Exhibition Center at Centro Cultural de Belém and Visual Arts Programmer at Culturgest. He was curator of the Portuguese Representation at the Venice Biennale in 1999 and co-curator of the Portuguese Representation at the Mostra Internazionale di Architettura di Venezia in 2010, the year he was General Curator of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. He was the general curator of the Bienal Anozero 1917. He is the author of several books in the field of Theory of Art. He regularly writes about Art and Architecture.
Nuno Faria
He is an independent curator and visiting professor at the Escola Superior de Design das Caldas da Rainha and at the Escola das Artes Universidade Católica Portuguesa. He worked at the Institute of Contemporary Art of the Ministry of Culture of Portugal (1997-2003) and at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2003-2009). He was the artistic director of the Centro Internacional das Artes José de Guimarães, in Guimarães (2013-2019) and of the Museu da Cidade do Porto (2019-2022).
Sergei Loznitsa
Sergei Loznitsa was born on September 5, 1964 in the city of Baranovitchi, in Belarus, which at that time was part of the Soviet Union. Later, her family moved to Kiev, Ukraine, where Loznitsa completed her high school education. In 1991, he applied to the Russian State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. After passing a rigorous selection process, Sergei Loznitsa was admitted to the Institute. Since 2000 he has been producing work at the Studio of Documentary Films in St. Petersburg. In 2000, he received the “Nipkov Program” scholarship in Berlin and, in 2001, he immigrated with his family to Germany.
Sergei Loznitsa has directed 22 internationally acclaimed documentaries and 4 feature films. His films have been shown at the Venice Biennale and at major film festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. In the Fog (V tumane) received the FIPRESCI award at Cannes. With the feature Donbass, Loznitsa was awarded as best director in the Un Certain Regard section of Cannes.
Sofia Borges
Sofia Borges is a conceptual artist who – for the past fifteen years – has been using photography to investigate philosophical notions around the relationship between matter, image and meaning. Considered one of the most pivotal Brazilian contemporary artists of her generation, in the first seven years of her career Borges developed a large and resounding body of works exploring photography and the expanded philosophical understanding of images. Following on from this, in the last five years, she began to produce installations and intricate practices that exercise the idea of a total artwork via complex curatorial projects and performances. More recently, she has also incorporated assemblage and painting into her image research. Sofia Borges is represented by Galerie Kandlhofer in Vienna and Mendes Wood DM in São Paulo, New York and Brussels. Her work belongs to important international collections such as The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Foam FotografieMuseum, as well as all the major institutional collections in Brazil, such as MASP, Pinacoteca de São Paulo, IMS, MAM SP, CCSP, Prêmio Pipa, amongst others.
