Last Sunday, February 25, the Portuguese Film Academy announced the winners of the Sophia Student Awards 2024 at a ceremony held at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium.

In the 10th edition of the Sophia Student Awards, three films from School of Arts were recognized in the Fiction and Master's/Doctorate categories.

"Caixa Aberta" by Guilherme Afonso, a student of the Sound and Image degree at School of Arts, came second in the Best Fiction Short Film category. In third place in the same category was "Kintsugi" by Martim da Cunha, a student of the EA Film Degree.

In the Best Master's and Doctoral Short Film category, "Litoral" by Francisco Dias, a student of EA's Master's in Cinema, was awarded third place.

The Sophia Student Prize will be awarded at the Sophia Awards 2024 ceremony, to be held on May 26 at the Estoril Casino.
