The film “Céu Em Queda”, directed by Carlos Ruiz Carmona, professor at the School of Arts, will premiere in theaters in several cities across the country on September 25. The feature film offers a critical reflection on the social representation of women in cinema, particularly in the legacy of classic cinema and the way in which this continues to be replicated in contemporary cinema.
The work, which has already received an honorable mention in the Outros Olhares section of the XXX Festival Caminhos do Cinema Português, was praised by the jury's critics "for its proposal to revive and question classic cinema, sometimes mimicking it, sometimes breaking with it, through rigorous direction, photography, and art, which reaches its peak in the performance of actress Carla Chambel, who takes us through all the great interpretations of women in cinema."
Two commented screenings are planned with the film crew in attendance:
- Lisbon – Cinema City Alvalade, September 25, at 7:30 p.m.
- Porto – Cinema Trindade, September 28, at 9:00 p.m.
“Céu Em Queda” will be showing in various cinemas across the country in the following days.
