Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:

This curricular unit aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the processes of deterioration and treatment of paintings on rigid supports -wood, metal and glass-. The aim is to integrate and give continuity to previous learning about the problem of conservation and restoration of organic and inorganic supports, as well as the conservation issues of the layers applied to the different surfaces. The main aim is to develop skills that will enable students to make informed decisions about the different intervention strategies to adopt based on the identification of the material and technical characteristics and deterioration processes of cultural goods. The aim is also to consolidate the use of appropriate terminology and the methodology for writing a technical report.
