This curricular unit will provide an understanding and a critical, philosophical and historical reflection on Aesthetics as a field of knowledge and artistic sensitivity.
Aesthetics aims to equip students with knowledge, skills and abilities included in the following learning objectives:
a) Understand the conceptual and ontological spectrum of Aesthetics.
b) Understand the relations between Aesthetics and artistic theory and criticism, production and art experience.
c) Understand the notions of judgment and taste in the context of the dialogues between Aesthetics, Art, Society and Politics.
d) Understand Aesthetics in the context of contemporaneity and the challenges inherent to this context
