This curricular unit will provide an understanding and a critical, philosophical and historical reflection on Aesthetics as an area of knowledge and artistic sensitivity. Aesthetics aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and competences included in the following learning objectives:
a) Understand the conceptual and ontological spectrum of Aesthetics.
b) Understand the relationships between Aesthetics, Art theory and criticism and the production and experience of art.
c) Understand the notions of judgement and taste in the context of the dialogues between Aesthetics, Art, Society and Politics.
d) Understand Aesthetics and theories of art in the context of contemporaneity and the challenges of this context.
