Yohei Yamakado
Born in Kobe, Japan, in 1987.
Lives and works in Paris, France.
Creates sound and visual works.
His recent works include Amor Omnia (2019) and La lyre à jamais illustra le taudis (2018).
O Marinheiro (2022), filmed in Porto, is his third film, his second feature-length film, and Aurora is his first solo exhibition.

Between 2017 and 2019, he attended Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains.
His work has been presented in contexts such as FIDMarseille (2020), Porto/Post/Doc (2020), Centre International d’Art et du Paysage de l’Île de Vassivière (2019), Frac Grand Large — Hauts-de-France (2019), EMS Stockholm (2019), Nuit Blanche Kyoto (2015, 2016, 2017), Towada Art Center (2016), Goethe-Institut Paris (2014), and IRCAM (2014).

Yohei Yamakado was an artist-in-residence at Escola das Artes in late 2019, with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, during which he developed a film project based on the reading of O Marinheiro by Fernando Pessoa.
Since 2021, he has been working on the film of the same title with the support of the Criatório program from Porto City Council.


 

João Pedro Amorim
Visual artist, guest assistant professor at Escola das Artes — UCP, and PhD candidate at the Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR), with an FCT scholarship (UI/BD/151010/2021). His film as sombras e os seus nomes premiered at Doclisboa 2020.
