More than 250 people passed by School of Arts to watch a conversation with Tim Bernardes, as part of the public program of the 5th edition of the Summer School on Art & Cinema 2023.

The opening of the Porto Summer School on Art & Cinema's evening events was well attended by the public who came from all over the country to take part in the lecture-performance by Brazilian singer Tim Bernardes, selling out all the places available for the event.

Finishing his European tour, with concerts in France, England and Spain, Tim Bernardes returned to Porto - after having sold out Casa da Música in October 2022 - for a Performance-Conference moderated by Nuno Crespo, curator and director of the School of Arts at Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

On stage, with his usual intimacy, Tim Bernardes talked about music, poetry and feelings, exploring the idea of how in an automated and technologized world one can compose in a handmade way, poetically resisting the automatisms and immediacy of contemporary technology.

During the conversation, there was also room to interpret themes recognized and celebrated by fans, using the piano and guitar. The conversation ended with two songs chosen by the audience. The moment was so special that it felt more like a conversation with a group of friends, given the great proximity between artist and audience.  

Bernardes, currently one of the leading names in new Brazilian music, was present at School of Arts as part of the public program - offered to the community by EA - which includes free evening events such as performances, film screenings and parties, taking place in different cultural spaces in the city.
