It is with deep sorrow that the School of Arts at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa mourns the passing of Professor Francisco Carvalho Guerra, founder of the School of Arts and one of the most prominent figures in the history of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.

A visionary and driving force behind transformative projects, Professor Carvalho Guerra believed in the importance of the arts as an essential dimension of university education. His vision led to the creation of the School of Arts, laying the foundation for an academic project that, over the decades, has established itself as a center of excellence in artistic creation, research, and dialogue between the arts, science, technology, and thought.
