Films by students from the Master's in Cinema and Master's in Sound and Image - Animation programs won awards at national and international festivals.
The film “Supervadios,” by Ricardo Salgado (Master's in Cinema), received the Award for Best National Essay at the 31st edition of Caminhos do Cinema Português. “O Pássaro de Dentro” by Laura Anahory (Master's in Sound and Image - Animation) won the Best Foreign Animation Film Award at the La Femme Independent Film Festival (Paris).
Regarding “Supervadios,” the jury of Caminhos do Cinema Português, composed of Alexandra Ferraz, Edgar Morais, and Vítor Hugo Costa, highlighted:
"This choice stems from the conviction that art is, in essence, an act of love. Cinema is much more than the sum of its technical resources, and this film exemplifies this in an admirable way. Telling a story with creativity and truth, touching us deeply, is a rare feat. Armed only with a cell phone, the director shares intimate fragments of his relationship with his aunt. The work captivates us with its raw honesty and the beauty of a narrative that suggests more than it shows, making us see beyond the visible."
This film was one of six productions from the School of Arts selected for the 31st edition of Caminhos.
