School of Arts was a Partner of Indielisboa 2026

School of Arts of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa partnered with the 23rd edition of IndieLisboa, which took place from April 30 to May 10, 2026, reinforcing its connection to contemporary cinema and emerging artistic creation.

As part of the partnership, IndieLisboa awarded the School of Arts Prize for Best Short Film to Lover, Lovers, Loving, Love by Jodie Mack, presented in the Silvestre section.

In this edition, two alumni from the School of Arts were also distinguished at the festival. Francisco Moura Relvas received the MCFly New Talent Award in the National Competition for the film Coroa de Espinhos, while Maria Moreira and Victor Hugooli won the MUTIM Award in the Novíssimos section with Abril de Helena.

School of Arts also took part in the roundtable discussion “What are short film festivals currently looking for in their programming?”, moderated by Daniel Ribas, professor at the School of Arts. The conversation brought together Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, John Canciani, and Sigrid Hadenius in a discussion dedicated to current trends and criteria in the programming of international short film festivals.
