School of Arts attends Curtas Vila do Conde 2025

School of Arts of Universidade Católica Portuguesa is once again making its presence felt at another edition of Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival, taking place between 12 and 20 July. This year, the school's participation extends to the Take One, National and International competitions, with films by students and a teacher.

In the Take One Competition, dedicated to works made in an academic context, two films by MA alumni from School of Arts have been selected:

- ‘O Pássaro de Dentro’, by Laura Anahory, a former master's student in Sound and Image - specialising in Animation, a work that was in the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival, having been nominated for La Cinef, the official section of the Cannes Film Festival dedicated to revealing new talents in international cinema. +info

- “Uma Crosta de Ferro", by Vasco Barbedo, a Master's student in Cinema, a film that reflects on factory work, industry, the efforts of workers, pollution and the role of immigrants in our society. +info 

The presence of School of Arts also extends to the festival's main competitions with ‘Ofélia’, the latest film by Carlos Lobo, a professor at SoA. The film was selected for the National and International Competitions and was produced by Olhar de Ulisses and Cimbalino Filmes, with the support of School of Arts.+info
