With the start of the new academic year, new students at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto can now apply for their UCP Card, made possible through a partnership with Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD).

The card serves as the student ID for UCP and is essential for accessing various campus services and facilities, including, among other features, the library, parking, and printing services. In addition, the UCP Card provides access to benefits and discounts at various partner locations, both on and off campus.

How to request the card?

New students can request the card in person at the Caixa Geral de Depósitos booths that will be set up in the Central Building Lobby from September 7 through 18. After this period, the card must be requested at the CGD branch in Foz do Douro.

Documents required to apply: necessary identification documents and proof of enrollment/tuition payment, which can be requested through the School Management System platform.

What are the benefits of the card?

The Caixa IU Card (with or without banking services) serves as the student ID for the Catholic University and grants access to the Library -in case you study on campus outside of regular hours -as well as access to the parking lot (upon purchase of a pass at the Stationery Store) and the use of the University’s printers, for a fee. It also provides access to discounts at partner locations, such as movie theaters, museums, and other establishments.

The Card remains valid for the entire duration of your studies and will be automatically renewed if you remain enrolled at the Universidade Católica.
